Our settlement services address the needs of recently arrived individuals and families from diverse Arabic-speaking countries who have been in Australia for less than 5 years. Services are provided through casework, group sessions, outreach, and peer support groups.
We offer one-on-one and family-based casework for newly arrived humanitarian entrants to address their support needs. Our bilingual staff play a critical role in building rapport and supporting clients, and linking them to other necessary services.
Our group sessions and programs are interactive and delivered in Arabic. Participants learn and benefit from information on citizenship, driver education, financial management, interviewing and job seeking, housing, legal services and others.
Services are provided at Adult Migration Education Program locations and address a broad range of topics, such as family and relationship issues, financial difficulty, education and employment, migration matters, physical and mental health.
Our peer support groups combine social, creative and physical activities and provide a safe, fun and non-judgmental environment. The groups offer opportunities for socialisation and development of friendships, upskilling through a range of educational sessions and recreational activities, and practical life skills to deal with issues relating to trust, family and relationships, self-esteem, conflict, grief and loss.
